Gansa Spanish Bar Restaurant Review + Outfit


Few weeks ago I was kindly invited by the PR team of a group of London restaurant to review the GANSA Tapas Bar in the heart of Camden town.
I never entered the place before despite noticing its bright red exterior several times on my way to meet friends or do some shopping.
So let's discover it together.....

I loved how bright and cosy the restaurant/ bar, perfect to enjoy an authentic Spanish culinary experience.....

Great selection of Spanish wines

The waitresses recommended me to come back on Mondays to get a real Spanish experience with Live Flamenco dancer and musicians.

I had the Sizzling Garlic Prawns and Grilled Beef Skewers with peppers and onions, and they were both lovely, even if the beef could have done with a bit more seasoning.
I am no Gordon Ramsay but a touch of salt always bring out more flavour, especially with meat.
The prawns were also lovely, tasty and just spicy enough to please all palate.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Margarita cocktail with vanilla and honey & spice. Delicious !

The whole menu is quite affordable. I was maybe expecting to pay more as everything is getting so expensive around London.
The tapas are around £3 to 4pm and around £6.50 afterwards.
I will definitely try their Valenciana paella with chicken & seafood  ( £19.50) next time I visit. The table next to me had it to share and it smelled and looked delicious !

Now time for dessert !!
I always look at the desert menu before ordering anything else, that shows you what a swet tooth I am.
I wasn't disappointed especially as I was allowed to order 2 of their delicious specialities.

The  Spanish doughnut fritters were hot and crispy and made even more delicious dipped in the warm creamy chocolate sauce.
The vanilla pod Spanish Crème Brulee was also very nice, not too eggy as they can sometimes be served. I enjoyed the freshness of the fruit but they should lose the icing sugar on top as it doesn't bring anything to the plate.
Overall I had a lovely degustation and would recommend  the place to people after a warm décor, good food, friendly staff and affordable prices.

I certainly couldn't leave without a taste of an authentic Spanish sangria. 
Brings me all back to my Spanish holidays not too long ago ...

I decided to go for a touch of colour for my outfit. I knew that the place would be colourful and I was right.
I have designed and made this very simple blazer last year back home in Africa. I havens had the occasion to wear the suit properly as it come with fitted trousers. I definitely will as soon as the weather warms up a bit (eventually), let's stay hopeful.
I kept the design very simple with no cuffs and buttons, too much hassle for a beginner like me.
The fabric is sold by Woodin, a Vlisco sub-group, and is quite popular in West Africa. They offer a great selection of bright and funky fabrics that attract a younger customer.

The skirt is an old swing project I finished not too long ago and really struggled with.  I tried to create as many pleats as I could and looking at the pictures, I kind of failed ! LOL
They do not appear as defined and precise as  I would have lied and it might be due to the fabric as well as my ( limited) sewing abilities.
But I won't be discouraged !

I finished the look with a touch of white from the shirt ( Primark) and my beloved white stilettos from Asos.
For once apart from a bit of dark red lipstick, I kept the accessories really simple to let the bright print do the talking.
